TangoSpace 2009

We have been working to clarify our 2009 start-dates and have settled on some synergetic terrain regarding the timing of our events. We seem to be kicking off the year with a focus on the number 14. Perhaps this is a good omen for the productive and creative tango coming in 2009. Our first practica for 2009 will be held on Wednesday the 14th January 2009. The first TangoSpace mini-milonga for 2009 will be on Saturday the 14th February 2009 - Valentines Day. We are looking forward to an insightful and innovative 2009.

January 2009 Update

Right. We've had an update regarding access to the hall at The Strand in Applecross. Unfortunately, we won't be able to get in there at all for the first couple of weeks of January. At this stage it looks like we will not be able to start up the Wednesday night practicas until either the 14th or 21st of Jan 2009. We're currently working on clarifying when we can get back on the floor again. Hopefully it will be a nice sexy new floor when we do. So, thanks for your patience with all this and we will keep updating you as we get more information. In the mean time, have a great New Years Eve and happy tangoing.

December 2008 - January 2009

TangoSpace is negotiating the celebratory season at the moment. We run our usual Practica on Wednesday @ The Strand in Applecross 7:45pm - 10:00pm $7.00 entry for the next two Wednesdays. Yes, that includes Christmas Eve. We will not be running on New Years Eve - December 31 2008. In January 2009 we will not be holding our second Saturday mini-milonga. The Hall will be having its floor refinished and we will not be able to access it for a few days - which unfortunately coincides with our milonga night. However, our practica on Wednesdays will not be disturbed. We are hoping that the floor will be restored to its former condition. The organisers for the hall hire are aware of the slippery nature of the floor - as other groups using it have also complained - so hopefully they will be consulting the right experts to refinish it in a suitable manner for dancers. Fingers crossed they get it right as they will not let us put any wax down to slow it down.

Thanks to everyone who came to the Christmas Mini-Milonga on Saturday the 13th December 2008. It was a great night and we really enjoyed ourselves. Special thanks to those who stayed behind to help clean up. It was a big job and you guys made it easier. In 2009 we hope to host more special events and have a whole range of ideas percolating at the moment. So stay tuned ... In the mean time we wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.

Christmas Mini-Milonga

On Saturday the 13th of December 2008 TangoSpace will be holding its monthly mini-milonga. This special Christmas celebration will be at The Strand in Applecross from 7:00pm - 10:00pm. Please make a booking by email to get the $10.00 price or pay $15.00 at the door.

This is TangoSpace. For creative, innovative, and challenging tango. Our small dancing community has some big ideas about tango and we hope to explore these concepts on the dance floor, in workshops, and online. This site will provide a nexus for the culmination of our successes, failures, and frivolity as we train, dance, create, and collaborate.
